About Phishing

Phishing is a message that pretends to come from someone you trust, in order to get your password, your money, or your documents. Job seekers are targeted often, because an offer of work makes people act quickly.

How it usually arrives

An email or SMS saying your application will be cancelled unless you pay or reply immediately.
A WhatsApp message offering a job, an interview call, or a guaranteed result for a fee.
A link to a page that looks like our login screen but sits on a slightly different address.
A caller claiming to be from our office, asking you to read out an OTP to “verify” you.
An attachment described as an offer letter or admit card, which is really a file that installs something.

Signs a message is fake

Urgency. Real deadlines are published in the notification well in advance, not sprung on you in a message.
A request for secrets. Anyone asking for your password, OTP, CVV or UPI PIN is committing fraud, without exception.
A personal account. A request to pay a personal UPI ID or an individual's bank account is never genuine.
A promise. Nobody can sell you a job, a higher score, or a place on a merit list.
An odd address. Check the sender's full email address and the full link, not just the display name.
Pressure to keep quiet. Genuine correspondence never asks you to avoid telling anyone.

If you receive something suspicious

Do not click the link, open the attachment, or reply.
Do not pay anything, however small the amount seems.
Open this website by typing the address yourself and check your application status there.
Forward the message to us so we can warn others.

If you already responded

Change your password here immediately, and anywhere else you used the same one.
If you shared card or bank details, contact your bank at once and ask them to block the card or freeze the transaction.
Report financial fraud in India on the national cybercrime helpline 1930, or at cybercrime.gov.in. Reporting quickly gives the best chance of recovering money.
